A little about me…

I’ve always thought that being politically correct is the same as lying. Over the last 30 years, our society has become more and more fearful of being honest about how we really think and feel. That has never been my way. I’m not deliberately insenstive, but some people insist on being victims no matter what my intent is. I prefer to be honest even if it does offend sometimes.
I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. During my early childhood, I also lived in Modesto, California. I grew up learning very basic values of right and wrong, along with a dose of common sense. Even as a child, I’ve always been a very logical thinker. My opinions are a product of reasoning and contemplation. While sometimes someone might be able to make me rethink my views, my values are rock solid. My two most fundamental political values are individual liberty, and personal responsibility. Those two things cannot exist without the other. Give up one, and the other will follow. I am very disturbed by the number of people in this country who give up responsibility for their own lives, and place their trust in government bureaucrats to solve their problems. Where has our uniquely American self reliance gone?
I attended Texas Tech University, and majored in Political Science. I also served for 3 years in the United States Navy. When I moved to Dallas in Sept. 2000, I began a career in information technology. I wanted to someday become a lawyer, but after some setbacks in my life (which I will not discuss here), I decided that it was time to get to work. I had always had a fascination with computers, Apple technology particularly. After working for CompUSA corporate headquarters, a commercial printing company, and for Apple, I started working as an Apple Consultant in Oct. 2007. I’ve been loving it ever since. If you wish to know more about my professional profile, visit my Linked In profile. I work for a great small business here in Dallas. The group of guys that I work with are the best I.T. guys I’ve ever known. I’ve had a lot of great mentors over the years, and I appreciate them every day.
I’m always interested in making new contacts, and new friends. Above, I have provided links to my Facebook and Linked In profiles, Twitter feed, and Google +. Feel free to connect. Please mention where you found me when doing so.
